MDFR makes another friendly wager with San Antonio Fire Department

(Miami, FL) - Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) Chief Dave Downey has made a friendly wager with San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD) Chief Charles Hood on the outcome of the NBA finals between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs.

Chief Downey has proposed that if the Miami Heat are victorious, Chief Hood must fly MDFR’s department flag outside one of SAFD’s most visible fire stations and have his command staff take a picture with it. A $500 donation to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will also be made. If the Spurs are crowned NBA Champions, Chief Downey will fly the SAFD flag, take pictures of his command staff with it, and make the same donation.

“If you can’t make them see the light, make them feel the heat,” said Fire Chief Dave Downey. “We are looking forward to the Larry O’Brien Trophy staying in Miami.”

The wager was made earlier yesterday in anticipation of Game #1.
